
Content creation is always a challenging part of the e-learning journey. Till 2019, it was an option to explore and adopt. Now its necessity considering the COVID challenges and need of social distancing. Education has quickly transformed and adopted online learning and live sessions. Many teachers, schools, and colleges have opted for virtual conference platforms like MS Team, Zoom, Google Meet easily. We have covered this topic in our earlier blog, to share how an eligible school or college can adopt these tools free of cost.
There exist a digital divide when we talk about live sessions. Infrastructure is not yet adequate and consistent for all. Many do not have enough bandwidth, network for live sessions. We covered those challenges in one of our earlier articles, what challenges the Indian students, teachers, and parents are facing.
Recently we spoke with a school with 1000 students and they have accepted and acknowledge this challenge. The Institute’s teachers have started building offline content which is uploaded on platforms to make them available to students on demand. The approach is making a difference and giving impact to students as it gave the opportunity for them to consume the content as per availability of the network, required bandwidth, and feasible time.
What we should do to develop online video content –
- Investment of time and efforts
- Define the end goal, students profile
- Work on the story-board and script – Storyboard
- Build content/Video – Screen Recording tools
- Edit the content to make it interactive and engaged – Video Editor
- Add transcript, subtitles, captions wherever required – Subtitle/Multilingual
- Choose the right distribution channel – Video Hosting & Distribution
