Be ready to get your hands dirty!

In my initial posts, I spoke about self-awareness and self-assessment. In this phase doing self-analysis and getting constructive feedback is important. Once you have this, testing it is a crucial part. It gives real and external feedback. Only doing assumption based analysis and building/planning some strategy is a good start point but getting end customer feedback is important for Success.

Taking it further to the end users, customers will give the customer feedback which either authenticates the assumptions & strategy or provide you improvement scope for corrective action. Personally, I believe there is nothing perfect and everything has improvement scope due to change in internal or external factors.

So rather than putting time and efforts to make it perfect, you should take it to customers in a small way get the feedback and keep on improving it in the journey. I am not talking anything but similar to Agile Execution or Lean Startup concept of MVP.

Here the core team needs to be on the ground to make the Hands Dirty, meet clients and get the direct feedback which helps them to make the right decisions. If the core team or Leadership team only keep on building strategies and directing instead of making themselves available for customers, being with the team on the ground will help a little in the journey.

There are many leaders like this we have seen earlier and current example could be Satya Nadella from Microsoft whom you will see involved with the team to listen, understand the customers and build culture and journey of Microsoft an exciting journey for Internal Customers (employees) as well external customers (end customers, partners).
